Netherlands Dominates at Track Cycling World Championships

The 2025 UCI Track Cycling World Championships, held in Santiago (Chile), was a major success for TeamNL. The Dutch dominated the podium, securing an impressive nine world titles and topping the medal table.

One of the most remarkable performances came from Harrie Lavreysen, who made history by winning four gold medals at a single World Championships (team sprint, keirin, kilometer time trial, and individual sprint). Hetty van de Wouw also enjoyed great success, claiming three world titles in the team sprint, individual sprint, and kilometer time trial. Lorena Wiebes also shone, winning gold in both the scratch race and the omnium.

Steffie van der Peet

PPEEQQ rider Steffie van der Peet added gold in the Team Sprint to her recent individual European title. Never before had the Dutch women won the world title in the Team Sprint event. Steffie van der Peet, together with Kimberly Kalee and Hetty van de Wouw, made history when they defeated the British team in the final.

Daniel Abraham Gebru

The UCI Para-Cycling Track World Championships were also highly successful for the Netherlands. Daniel Abraham Gebru (PPEEQQ athlete) convincingly won gold in the Scratch event with a lap advantage. What an astonishing achievement! We are incredibly proud of ‘our’ Daniel. It’s amazing how long he has been performing at the very highest level.

PPEEQQ is a proud partner of TeamNL.
